How to Enter:

Step 1: Choose a financial fraud case that interests you from the examples provided or research a case of your own.

 

 

Step 2: Once you have identified a case, answer the following questions in a Microsoft Word Document. Be sure to include which fraud case your submission is based on.


1. Describe the basic details of the case. What was the crime? When did the crime(s) occur? Where? Who was involved? What was the outcome?


2. Why would accountants be essential to solving this case?


3. What ethical dilemmas may the accountants involved in this case need to consider?


4. List 3 accounting skills that the accountants involved in the case would have needed to demonstrate to succeed in solving this case.


5. If you were assigned to this case, what would be most challenging about working on this case? Most rewarding?

Step 3: Submit your contest entry by emailing your Word document to was.tourolas@gmail.com with "WAS Accounting Contest - Entry" in the subject line.​
